COVID-19 Statement

Updated: Feb 15, 2021

The outbreak of covid-19 is affecting us all with sites shut down and people working from home, remote with respect to their work colleagues.  SCLF had to take the decision to cancel the March forum meeting and we will also be cancelling the June forum meeting and the annual conference this year.  However, the SCLF committee met as usual in March in our first ever virtual committee meeting.

The committee would like to see some positives come from the current situation, to offer a platform for engagement, discussion and training for our members and the wider community and are looking into the best ways that we can achieve this.

We are committed to running a series of webinar based presentations from a variety of speakers which we think would be of interest to our members and we are working with some initial volunteers to get this underway.  We need your input for this – what topics or speakers would you be interested in hearing from?  Also, we are looking for volunteers who would be willing to do a webinar based presentation.  This could take any format you think would be of interest to our members – it could be advice from regulators, private consultants who have an interesting site they could present on or, any form of topic that you think we would like to hear about.

We would also like to hear from you if there is any way you think SCLF can provide help in these difficult times – what do you need from us? We welcome all ideas even if you would just like us to arrange a forum where people can meet for a virtual coffee and catch up once a week!

Please get in touch with us via admin@sclf.co.uk if you have an idea for a speaker or topic or, if you would be willing to present yourself.  We are committed to using SCLF funds to assist in any way we can – we can set everything up if you can provide us with the content.

The idea is to keep us all connected, provide some relief from the new day to day norm for us all and to keep us going as a community at the moment.  It also provides a way to push SCLF out across the whole of Scotland and allow some interested parties who work in the remote parts of Scotland and who struggle to get to Glasgow for our usual meetings to be more involved.

Please make sure you are signed up to our mailing list if you want to be notified of the events we will be holding.  We will also be posting details on our Linkedin and Twitter (@ScottishCLF) accounts so keep an eye out and help us share with those who maybe don’t know about SCLF by sharing our social media posts with your contacts and encouraging them to get involved.

Stay safe everyone!
